Volunteering with Inspire Sri Lanka gives you a hands-on elephant experience in the beautiful country of Sri Lanka. As well as helping elephant conservation, you will receive elephant handling training - locally known as mahout training – which no other elephant volunteer project in Sri Lanka offers.

Each day you will work with and learn about these magnificent yet endangered animals. You will also help manage our eco farm – helping to care for our chickens, paddy field, fruit and vegetable garden and also spend time with disadvantaged local children.

By the end of your stay with us you will be able to read elephant body language, identify health and sickness signs in elephants, single handedly take your elephant to the river for a bath (under the watchful eye of the mahout) and have made friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
